MISCELLANEOUS : ECHOED MOMENTS : ANAKIN & LEIA

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Your Reputation Precedes You: In ROTS and ANH, father and daughter respectively come face to face with a long-familiar enemy - and greet them with similar cocky disdain.

Cunning pilots: While Luke is more commonly associated with having inherited his father's piloting skills, Leia has as well. They even use similar tactics when flying against foes: in the podrace, a diverted Anakin surprises Sebulba by coming in from above him, gaining him the lead in the race. In ROTJ, Leia uses a similar tactic when flying speeder bikes against stormtroopers: diving in from above to surprise her foe.

Your Smile: Less an echoed moment than an echoed trait and a testament to SW's casting directors: adult Anakin has a remarkably similar smile to his future daughter.

Choke Hold: In ROTJ, Leia unwittingly channels her father when killing Jabba the Hutt. Anakin/Vader used the Force-choke/strangle on multiple occasions on those who had displeased him, sometimes to the point of death. Leia likewise resorts to strangling when dispatching Jabba. If one takes into account the novelizations, the ROTJ novel even hints that at this moment, Leia was unwittingly tapping into the Force.

Hutt Slaves: Both Anakin and Leia are at at one point in their lives enslaved by the Hutts. Anakin and his mother were originally sold to Gardulla the Hutt, but even when bought by Watto, the Hutts still ultimately controlled slavery on Tatooine. And of course in ROTJ, Leia herself ends up Jabba's personal slave for a time. Making it all the more fitting that a Skywalker should ultimately be the instrument of Jabba's doom.
