QUOTES : REVENGE OF THE SITH
[Reunion - Anakin runs to her and twirls her around in his arms; they kiss
frantically]
Padmé: "Oh, Anakin..."
Anakin: "I've missed you, Padmé... so much..."
Padmé: "There'd been whispers, that you'd been killed - I've been living
with unbearable dread -"
Anakin: "I'm all right." [begins kissing her again, more
intensely]
Padmé: "No, not here..."
Anakin: "Yes, here! I'm tired of this hiding, I don't care if people know
we're married!" [notices something's wrong] "What's wrong?
You're trembling."
Padmé: "Something - something wonderful has happened. Ani... I'm
pregnant."
Anakin: "That's..." [shocked and overwhelmed, until expression
gives way to joy] "That's wonderful."
Padmé: "What are we going to do?"
Anakin: "We're not going to worry about anything right now. This is a
happy moment. The happiest moment of my life."
[they kiss and embrace again]
[Anakin
is watching Padmé brush her hair on her balcony]
Padmé: "Ani, I want to have our baby back on Naboo. Back in the Lake
Country... where no one would ever know. I could go back early, set up the
baby's room. I know the perfect spot, by the gardens."
Anakin: "You are so... beautiful."
Padmé: "It's only because I'm so in love."
Anakin: "No, it's because I'm so in love with you."
Padmé: "So love has blinded you?"
Anakin: "No, no, that's not what I meant."
Padmé: "But it's probably true."
[On the veranda
after the nightmare. Padmé comes to him, and gently rubs his shoulder.]
Padmé: "What is it?"
Anakin: "It's nothing. Just a dream."
Padmé: "Tell me."
Anakin: [fingers japor snippet around her neck] "I remember when I gave you
this."
Padmé: "Anakin, how long is it going to take for us to be honest with each
other?"
Anakin: "...It was a nightmare. Like the ones I used to have about my
mother, just before she died."
Padmé: "And?"
Anakin: "...and it was about you." [pauses] "You die
in childbirth."
Padmé: [hands go to belly] "And the baby?"
Anakin: "I don't know."
Padme: "It was only a dream - "
Anakin: "I won't let this one become real."
Padmé: "This baby will change our lives. I doubt the
queen will continue to let me serve in the Senate, and if the Council discovers
you're the father - "
Anakin: "I know."
Padmé: "Should we ask Obi-Wan to help us?"
Anakin: "We don't need his help." [smiles] "Our baby
is a blessing." [embraces her]
