Padmé Fights on: IGN AU Interviews Catherine Taber - October 14, 2010
IGN: "Attack of the Clones showed Anakin and Padmé getting together and of course their relationship goes to hell in Revenge of the Sith. But the nice thing on The Clone Wars is you have the opportunity to show how things were in-between."

Padmé Speaks Out: GeekDad Interviews Catherine Taber - September 10, 2010
GD: "Do you have a favorite episode from the first two seasons?"
GD: "In what ways, or to what extent, do you see Padmé as a woman from 2010, as a contemporary, rather than a woman from a galaxy far, far away?" -
Comic Vine Interview - Catherine Taber - September 16, 2010 -
Tee-Kay 421: An Interview With Catherine Taber - July 2010 TeeKay-421: "Can you tell us about the difference between doing the voice of Leia (TFU) and Padmé?" -
IGN: "In your mind, what does Padmé make of Ahsoka?"
Taber: "I think that Padmé definitely has a protectiveness over Ahsoka and an affinity for her, just through the sheer fact of knowing how much Anakin cares for her. And I also think that she sees things that remind her of herself when she was younger and the things that she had to go through. And watching Ahsoka go through those makes her want to be helpful and also just makes her really proud of Ahsoka."
Taber: "Yeah, you know, Dave [Filoni] really wants to make sure that their relationship is shown as a relationship that really is true love and does have that strength that facilitates all the things that end up happening. But it's a real relationship and so people can identify with it - so they don't always get along. They have that same push and pull that you have with your husband or your wife or your boyfriend or your girlfriend, but at the end of the day, you love each other and you always come back to that. I think that it makes it more interesting and they definitely are very different people with different philosophies and I think that's a part of the entire story, that we really see Anakin's fall through the choices that he makes that Padmé probably wouldn't have made. I love when we get to do that."
GD: "As an actress, do you prefer the fighting scenes, or the diplomatic episodes, or the episodes with Anakin?"
CT: "I like all of them. I love the episodes with Anakin, because the relationship that we've been able to establish between the two of them has worked out really well, and the fans have been so receptive of it. The thing I like about Padmé so much really is the balance of all these aspects. She can be feminine and she can be at the fancy dinner party and fit in perfectly there but she also can be hiding out with a blaster in some dungeon and running around on hands and knees getting the job done. I think the two of those things together are more interesting than if it were just one or the other."
CT: "There are a couple that I really love, and for different reasons. I loved 'Innocents of Ryloth,' from season 1, where I played Numa. I just thought it was such a beautifully written script and it was really touching. I loved 'Rookies' from season 1, because I loved what Dee [Bradley Baker] did with the different clones, and with their relationships. And I really loved 'Senate Spy' from this last season, because I had so much fun recording with Matt [Lanter], capturing the Anakin/Padmé dynamic."
CT: "She almost reminds me of an old Hollywood character in that she would never be tacky or intentionally mean. She has manners, if that makes sense, and I really appreciate that. She's a modern woman in the sense that she knows what she believes in and she's not afraid to go out there and fight for it. I enjoy that part of her character. I also really enjoy her relationship with Anakin that Dave has tried to establish. It's a flawed relationship, just like every relationship. It's not perfect, and we wouldn't want it to be shown in that way. They have their ups and downs, just like everybody else. We've had a really good time showing those situations, so that hopefully husbands and wives, and boyfriends and girlfriends watching it together can go, 'Uh huh, I recognize that.' For instance, in 'Senate Spy,' when he tells her basically, 'You're not going to do this.' Well, for me, and for a lot of women, that's the wrong thing to say if you don't want us to do something. I enjoy the fact that we get to do these kinds of scenes that span different generations and are always true between men and women."
CV: "How does it feel being part of the Star Wars phenomenon and voicing the mother of Luke and Leia?"
CT: "It's both an honor and a responsibility. You want to do a good job and be true to the Star Wars mythos. Its also just pretty cool! Last year at Comic Con, Matt Lanter and I took a photo with Mark Hamill between us. I was thinking to myself, our 'son' is Luke Skywalker!"
TeeKay-421: "In the series, Padmé is married to Anakin. Does this have any effect on the way you and Matt Lanter work together?"
Catherine Taber: "We've had great chemistry from the start and have some other things in common, not the least of which we are both Atlanta Braves fans. It has always been very easy and natural to play that love relationship with him. He is a really great actor and a really great guy."
Catherine Taber: "Leia is younger and more brash. She has very little tact; I always say she is a perfect blend of her parents! Padmé is equally brave, maybe even more so at the end of the day, but she is very deliberate and thoughtful. Her years in politics have shaped her that way. She is just less impetuous, that is until Anakin is in the picture, then all bets are off! Her heart wins out over her head!"
