THE MOMENTS: THE CLONE WARS (2008)

------------------

Episode 3x10: Heroes on Both Sides

-

1) Custody Dispute? After a heated Senate debate on the war, Padmé asks Anakin to ask the Jedi Council to speak with Palpatine to encourage the Republic to pursue negotiation to end the war. Anakin refuses to get involved, saying it's not his or the Jedi's place. Ahsoka asks why not. Anakin suggests Padmé teach Ahsoka a few things about how politics work. Ahsoka says the Senators didn't discuss at all why the Republic is at war to begin with. Anakin offers his explanation, which Padmé obviously doesn't care for. She bemusedly tells him that perhaps talking with the Jedi isn't in fact the best role for him, and she and Ahsoka leave. When he responds indignantly, Padmé smiles and informs him she's off to teach his Padawan about politics, just like he asked.

----

2) You have NO idea. When discussing the war in Padmé's office, Ahsoka makes the offhand observation that her Master and Padmé really have a lot in common - and that's probably why he and Padmé get along so well. Padmé laughs and smiles uncertainly, glancing away and making a non-committal reply.

----

2) Lesson learned. Padmé returns Ahsoka to Anakin after their covert mission to the Separatist capital fails. Anakin chastises them both for the illegal and overly dangerous mission. Ahsoka admits she did learn something: that the politics of this war are much grayer than she thought. Anakin glances at Padmé, who gives him a knowing smile.
