P/A QUOTES: THE CLONE WARS (2008)
------------------
Season 3, Episode 10: Heroes on Both Sides
-
[Anakin, Padmé, and Ahsoka are walking down a Senate hallway following a fruitless Senate session.]
Padmé: "You must ask the Jedi Council to speak to Chancellor Palpatine."
Anakin: "Don't involve me in this."
Padmé: "A peaceful solution is the only way out of this morass of war."
Anakin: "That's not my role, Padmé."
[Ahsoka asks why not. Anakin clears his throat and looks at Padmé]
Anakin: "Uh, I suggest you teach my young Padawan a thing or two about politics."
[Additional dialogue about how Ahsoka doesn't understand all these political debates, or why they're fighting a war at all.]
Anakin: "War's complicated, Ahsoka, but let me simplify it. The Separatists believe the Republic is corrupt, but they're wrong - and we have to restore order."
[Padmé crosses her arms and looks at Anakin severely.]
Padmé: "Maybe talking to the Jedi Council isn't the role for you after all. Thanks for your help."
[She starts walking away.] "Come on, Ahsoka."
Anakin: "Hey!"
Padmé "You told me to teach her about politics. So I'm going to."
[Anakin shakes his head at the two departing women.]
[Later, in Padmé's office. Padmé has just suggested using Ahsoka's Jedi clearance to sneak into Separatist territory.]
Ahsoka: "...besides, Master Skywalker said you should teach me about politics."
Padmé: "Right."
Ahsoka: "You know, you two have more in common than you think. It's no wonder you get along so well."
[Padmé gets an odd look on her face.]
Padmé: "Eh... of course."
